I Wanna Be a Basterd Too

So the PS3 is now smaller and cheaper. That kicks a lot of ass for two reasons. One being that I need one eventually because playing a GTA game on my Xbox was painful enough as it is and FFXIII is coming out next year and I flat out refuse to play a Final Fantasy game on an Xbox. Reason number two, my fucking Xbox died again. I'm starting to think they did that shit on purpose so you'd have to keep buying them. Fucking Microsoft bastards.
Speaking of bastards. A couple friends and I went recently to see a showing of Inglourious Basterds at our local movie mega-plex. I for one loved it. Now I can't really say the same for my viewing mates, unlike myself, they had built it up too much in their heads. While I wanted it to be good, and I really wanted it to be good, somewhere in the back of my mind floating around I was thinking, "He's washed up, his movies will never be as good as Pulp Fiction." And this most definitely still holds true for me. But Inglourious Basterds was a masterpiece. A shining example in theses dark cinematic times we are living in. This movie shows what is possible when the writer/director stops giving a shit about all the usual movie-industry bull shit and just makes the movie they want to make. I respect Tarantino for that more than he will ever know. This movie was not as good as Pulp Fiction, but then again very few things are, however it is his second best movie hands down. The tension he builds in the opening scene was almost unbearable, a good thing. And the Mexican stand off in the bar was ridiculously amazing. Basically, I enjoyed the hell out of every moment in this movie. I highly recommend it to everyone and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over and over again like I already do with his other films.
Great flick man, I salute you.
